This program was founded in 1991. For the first two years of the university (then it was still a Bible college), this was the only program of study. Later, on the basis of this course, students continued into the bachelor of theology or bachelor of missiology degrees. After the accreditation of these bachelor programs, this program became independent.
Purpose
To give students a foundational knowledge of theology and mission and to help them gain foundational skills for church ministry.
Objectives To give students a foundational theological education, specifically to widen and deepen their knowledge and understanding of the content of the Bible. To teach basic Biblical interpretation, theoretical and practical theology, the history of the church and theology, missiology, and counseling.
To help students gain and develop practical skills in interpreting the Bible, oral and written communication, practical church ministry and counseling.
To support and develop the desire to actively serve in the local church according to one’s personal gifts and calling as well as to encourage personal spiritual growth.
Philosophy of Education
This program is designed for one year of full-time study and includes lectures and seminars; pedagogical practice in churches, missions, and parachurch organizations; prayer meetings and meetings for spiritual edification; cultural and social activities; and other forms of education in order to achieve the purpose and objectives of this program.
