The mission of Donetsk Christian University, as a Christian educational institution of evangelical-Baptist faith in Eurasia, is to equip Christians in order to fulfill the purposes of the Church within local churches and society.



Philosophy of education: Church context, Biblical foundation, Methodological principles

Church context: Donetsk Christian University, as a theological educational institution, realizes itself as a part of the Church and seeks to fulfill the following goals:

  • (à) Worship of God (1 Pet. 4:10-11);
  • (b) Transformation into the image of Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 3:18);
  • (c) Fulfillment of His Great Commission (Mat. 28:18-20).

Biblical foundation: Donetsk Christian University, as a theological educational institution, understands theological education as the spiritual gift of “teaching” for the attainment of the purposes of the Church “for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ” (Eph. 4:11) by:

  • (à) Formation of Christian character (Rom. 12:2);
  • (b) Passing on appropriate knowledge and skills (Ps. 78:3-7).

Methodological principles: Donetsk Christian University, as a theological educational institution, establishes its educational program on the following formational principles:

  • (à) Historical comprehension of the experience of the Church (Deut. 8:2; 1 Tim. 4:16), which is manifested in several ways, including academic research;
  • (b) Constant search for application through results in the present, real world (Mat. 7:24-27);
  • (c) Equipping of Christians with appropriate means, which is necessary for the teaching of the next generation (2 Tim. 2:1-2).
